I managed to get an earlier flight home but I have been stuck with flying in the back of a United B757 in a middle seat versus my nice exit row window seat (with a full seat missing in front) I would have had on an American A321. This truly is an old plane, I am surprised there even are 757s left in service. But I guess United likes these planes and it has more seats while still being completely full.

Beautiful leaves on my short walk in a park near my hotel yesterday evening, here’s some photos:

Supposed to snow here on Thursday so I’m glad to be escaping that! But I’m sure I’ll be going home to fires everywhere instead. Oh California.

Everytime I fly on a 757 I just think “God, I love the 757"

And then we land and I have to que for fifty minutes before I can exit.

75s are awesome.

Unless you’re in the back.

I forget who said it, but I remember someone saying that the 757 was far superior to the 737, which sucks, and that Boeing made a big league mistake discontinuing it.

Lol that's like saying driving on LA freeways is great unless there is traffic

I generally like the 737 just because I like southwest and they have ONLY those.

Many in the aviation press have said this. The 737-Max is basically an attempt to fill a 757-sized hole in the lineup with the 737.

The 757 is like a plane version of the cars I like. Fun for the driver, passenger comfort is secondary.

I think this was an ex-airline executive or something.

It’s all in how you take care of them and outfit the interiors.

I flew on three of them going to/from Seattle (also United) in August . I’ve even flown them trans-Atlantic (something that the 737/A320 can’t really do, though some would say the 757 can’t really do it either).

They were built until 2004, so there are some that aren’t extremely old running about, though at this point, it’s really about when the interior was last redone as far as passenger comfort goes.

100% the best Christmas gift. And also from 2-4 am is pretty good in most places when there isn't a major construction project going on . Somehow still some traffic on the 101 in the valley at that hour but that’s unsurprising.

Well yeah any airliner would be pretty damn nice if you removed all of the middle seats or half the rows.
